Calculation Details
California penalties are the greater of:
- Flat Amount: $850 per adult and $425 per child, up to $2,550 per household, prorated by months uninsured ÷ 12.
- Percentage of Income: 2.5% of household income above the filing threshold (around $16,000), prorated by months uninsured ÷ 12.
